NickR,

My posts are not like taxes either, NickR. You don't have to read them.

Mr. Kettle, aren't you trying to impose on me your opinion that I should no longer post my opinions about holosync because you don't like reading them?

It's really too bad, because as long as I feel the desire to, I'll say something about it. Besides, the opinions aren't for you. You've heard it. They are for the people who haven't read the countless other threads about the same subject. The ones who are posting the questions.

When someone asks "What you you people think of holosync" or the like, my replies are not intended for you. So don't read them.

You can enjoy your freedom to simply ignore it and not reply if you'd like. Or the other way around. I would hate to feel I was pushing one something on you.

Sigh.

I guess I will just never know the glorious freedom that is agreeing with your opinions about Centerpointe's products, NickR.

Holosync works, even if you don't know it's working. We have always been at war with Oceania. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtin. God is on our side. I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you.

This is an interesting discussion going on here. It is good to see so many people who are passionate enough to engage intelligently on a topic without setting the place on fire with flames. But the danger of the flame is always there so we will have to be diciplined.

I have some thoughts both on the topic and on the discussion itself. No matter to which side of an issue one is drawn it is unlikely that one side will be able to convince the other side to adopt their opinion. There really is no winning an argument. However, those who stand outside of the debate and observe may be able to judge for themselves which of the debators seems to have made the best case.

Some other thoughts that have occurred to me about this is that from a certain perspective it can be seen that there isn't even an issue of right and wrong about most debates. They can be seen as forming a part of an integral whole. Imagine for instance two characters in a debate over who was the genuine item. Let us think of them as one being represented by the backside of a dollar bill and the other by the face side of a dollar bill. From their perspective it is obvious that the other is an imposter. Each KNOWS down into the fiber of their being that they are right and the other fellow is wrong. If you think about it, isn't it interesting how in this situation they are both right and both wrong? Each is right in that they are the genuine item, and each is also wrong in denying the other. As we observe the debate we can see that they are each two sides of one thing. No one from outside will be able to convince the debators of this. Only through their own introspection will they come to know themselves and resolve this apparent duality.

In one way we can see that people are each very different and each person will have their own subjective experience of any situation. In another way we can see that we are all pretty much the same.

Imagine two people going to a restaurant - one enjoys the meal and the other hates it. They both ate the same dishes but one became sick with food poisoning and didn't notice any discomfort. One has a stomache of iron and the other is very sensitive. One would highly recommend the restaurant. The other would like to have them shut down.

Imagine two people who exercise and go to a gym. One experiences tremendous success and quickly becomes fit and "ripped". The other finds no matter how much he works out that it just doesn't work. One has better body chemistry - natural steroids - testosterone and it all seems so easy. The other is easily injured on the machines and probably doesn't have a good idea how to actually use them in the first place. Again one would highly recommend this practice. The other would have the gym shut down as a public danger and a scam.

From the perspective of each of these persons we can see they they are right about their opinion. But they are each both wrong where they might deny the reality of the others perspective.

I have had extensive experience in the field of mind development, both with the products that have been mentioned in this discussion and in more traditional meditation. My opinion on them would be but another opinion - and that would be worth no more than any other person's opinion. Each person must find the truth as it is worked out within their own Self.

Best wishes to all,

B.

Just because Holosync is perceived to be expensive or aggresiveley marketed is no reason to cast aspersions as to its potency. If you think Holosync is expensive check out Scientology(!)or one-one (50 minutes to the hour) psychotherapy. Holosync could be cheaper, but so could many of the products in this area.
Another problem is that several of the critics on this forum have either never experienced Holosync or given up after several months. This hardly qualifies anyone to give a fair critique.
If Holosync does not suit then thats your choice, but to prevent others from experiencing possible benefits is unfair. Centerpointe does offer a non conditional 12 month guarantee.
I feel quite strongly about this because with some 25 years experience in this field I have been 'ripped off' countless times. It makes a change to find a product that delivers. To save people time I can also recommend EFT (very cheap),Natural Brilliance and the Paraliminal tapes that I have tried. From others I have heard good things about the Sedona Method.

B.,

I agree with you.

Some people believe they get value out of Centerpointe's product ... and I believe they do.

I have no problem with people using sound technology to increase the benefits in their lives. If they want to continue to buy products that I consider overpriced, that is their business. If they truly believe they are worth the price, that is their judgement.

What bothers me so much are the marketing practices Centerpointe uses. They charge too much for their product and try to convince people who may not be getting benefits from their products at all that there is something wrong with them (blockages and what-not).

People with both concern and doubt have posted their feelings about the product, wondering whether it was doing anything or not.

Feeding someone a line that amounts to "it's working even though it's not" (how's that for a mind-screw) and trying to get more and more of their money when your product may, in reality, be doing nothing for them is both deception and theft. This is what I take issue with.

If these people really believed they had a great product and that it in fact did work for everyone and wanted to change the world, their approach would be different. They'd want to price it and make it available for as cheaply as possible. The quality of their marketing materials, the price of the product, and the way they've designed their system so that you keep giving them money over time ... in my estimation points to a pretty shady situation.

It makes me angry and indignant. I feel very strongly about it. This is why anytime I see anyone asking about it, I am going to give my opinion. In my mind it is the right thing to do.

I know other people have other experiences with it, and I am glad they post their points of view ... and not just so I can argue with them (which I thoroughly enjoy). I can understand why they would want me to shut up (because for them it works and I must be disgruntled or have some personal issue). In my point of view, the practices of Centerpointe are morally wrong ... and, honestly, I would feel I would be doing someone a disservice if he or she were wondering about Centerpointe and did not experience the opinions of someone with my experiences and point of view regarding the subject.

In my mind, telling someone, "watch out and trust your own experiences" when they are being bombarded with rhetoric, promises, and all sorts of unbalancing influences, is a correct and necessary thing to do. Especially when people go to these products to relieve very real pain and personal problems.

So, for the benefit of balance, I do acknowledge that the Centerpointe program works for some people. It may be a great number of people. I don't know. Many people find it worth the price. I don't feel these people are being ripped off, because they get results and have made a choice.

It would also be nice for them to admit that some people are, in fact, being suckered. That the materials simply don't work for some people. That these people are being fed line after line of BS, and they are being ripped off. You can get your money back guarantee, sure. But not before you're told you have blockages and all sorts of other nonsense. "Just give it a try." "Maybe you're simply ready for the next level." Etc. etc.

Just admit that the marketing material and philosophy Centerpointe espouses is designed to keep people in the program and purchasing more and more of their products.... I'd at least feel like I was being heard.

NickR,

If someone uses a product for 6 months and perceives no benefit ... you are telling me that this amount of time is too limited in which to form an accurate opinion about the effects of the product?

This is, I think, a critical area in the differences of our opinions.

Nick, is it possible, perhaps, that there is a critical difference between those who after six months of "nothing" decide to continue and those who decide to call it quits? Perhaps the "nothing" for each is a very different kind of "nothing."

That is, for one group, they say "nothing" but have had experiences with it that let them know that it is, in fact, doing something for them. For the other group, perhaps, they say it's doing nothing because it really is doing nothing for them and probably will continue to do nothing.

The problem here is that it is probably as impossible for you to conclude that the technology just doesn't work for some people as it is for me to believe that it is as potent as you believe it is for nearly everyone.

It is my guess, NickR, that when a person says, "this stuff is bogus" they mean it is bogus for them and they know what they are talking about.

When I was meditating, just meditating, for three months I could definitely feel the difference. It was unmistakable. If the technology is as potent as you say, and it works for nearly everyone, I find it mind boggling that someone could use it for even a number of weeks without noticing something they consider worthwhile.

As I see it, Nick, the fact is that the technology DOESN'T work for everybody and that those people are being scammed.

I am not saying here that it is a total scam and doesn't work for you, because it obviously does. But some people are being scammed, Nick. They are. Centerpointe is pretty oily.

Holosync has definitely helped a lot of people. I have to agree with Babayada, though. It is marketed as a cure-all that will solve all of your problems in short order. There are a lot of people who are looking for a magic bullet and they are vulnerable to that kind of advertising.

Holosync may help with a lot of problems, but it is still just a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. The effect it has will have as much to do with the user as it does the product itself. Anybody who just sits back and expects holosync to solve all their problems will probably be disappointed. No tape or CD will do it for you. That's one reason I decided to try the paraliminals. One ad I read specifically said that the paraliminals won't work unless the user takes some initiative.

Personally, I was never that crazy about holosync. It can affect the mind in some pretty interesting ways while you listen, but I had a hard time sticking with it. Using it for 1-1 1/2 hours every day for months on end without having any idea if it actually works seems like a pretty big sacrifice. I would rather spend my time on things that I know will benefit me.
