I've had a David Paradise, a Proteus, and an InnerPulse, which is the machine I use now. I liked the Paradise but it quite working after about 6 months and was unreliable up to that point. The Proteus was a decent machine. The lights were too bright for my tastes, and the presets lacked variety. I did not want to do the work to learn how to program it.

I now have an InnerPulse and am very happy. It has a great variety of sessions and the leds are smaller and not as bright as those on the Proteus.

I bought both my Proteus and my InnerPulse from Dynamind.

They were the cheapest source I could find at the time I bought my machines and they did not charge for shipping. They shipped quickly.

I use the InnerPulse exclusively with hypnosis tapes. I have never used it for meditation or entertainment. It is a great tool and deepens hypnosis for me.

I have used it with Paraliminals and with a number of other hypnosis tapes.

I found it to be a worthwhile purchase. I am not sure a light/sound machine is for everyone, however.

I use the proteus. Love the fact that you can dial down the light to almost dim or have it bright. I also have the choice of light glasses. The blue ones seem to help more for the intuition and the green ones for goals. Either worked well with paraliminal though paraliminals don't need the boost. My proteus has 50 presets. Some are for studying with, some for relaxation, and some for deep relaxation and dreaming. Creating your own sessions can be fun, especially if you've toyed with bwgen.

It would be best if you could try the L&S device before you buy it. If you haven't used one before. Some people hate them. Some like them bright and other like them dimmer.

I personally don't think that you need them for paraliminals. If you think you need to plug in a L & S device to get the benefit of the paraliminals consider the problems of wiring them up. You have the wires to the cassette or CD player, the light glasses and the headphones. Setting that up (untangling the cords) can be more distracting from the paraliminal than just putting on the tape and putting on the headphones.
