Hello,
I attempted to switch to polyphasic sleeping about two years ago, but failed real bad. Kept trying for a month, but always overslept after about three days. I have since then wanting to give it another try. I did, and am now on my sixth day, no oversleeping failures. And am now actually quite alert, and not sleepy at all (wanted to kill myself yesterday though
And basically wanted to hear some experience from anyone trying this before, and succeeded.
Some questions:
1. Did you just wake up after a nap being "adjusted" and fully alert? Or it this something that steadily increased during a couple of days? As mentioned, I am not at all sleepy, but then again I do not feel as energic as I used to after sleeping a normal 8+ hours. My mind is also a lot clearer than than the last couple of days, but still a little foggy.
2. An old post regarding polyphasic sleep (http://www.learningstrategies.com/forum/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000476.html) on this board states that you should not stick to this cycle more than 6 months. Anyone done this longer, or know about any negatives that might occure living on this cycle for like 2-3 years?
3. Does the ability to fall asleep more quickly increase even after the REM has kicked-in?
Any other information what I am to expect during the coming week is appreciated.
