Shr33m,
I'd like your opinion on this.
I have pretty much been a skeptic most of my life with a tendency to play around with mysticism, spirituality, and the occult. I sorta keep one foot firmly in what my reason tells me is true, but dip the other foot in the pond, so to speak, of spiritualism.
Well, there was one point in my life when I was surrounded by tons of people involved in all kinds of spiritual things. I met a guy who studied under a guru in India, did LSD therapy, and lots of other stuff. We did this exercise together that had an amazing effect. I could literally feel the awareness in other people he had done the exercise with, and they could feel mine. I was healed by two energy workers, and was just around tons and tons of good stuff.
I got home and I literally felt like I had been living in a mental and spiritual ghetto by comparison.
After a while of living with my family and in the same city, things return to normal. Back to the ghetto. Since then I have been trying all sorts of things to get back up.
My feeling is that I was strongly influenced by the people and energies around me. If they are up, I am up. If down, I go down. I've done all kinds of things to bring and keep my own energy up with varying levels of success, but nothing like I felt while I was in the mountains surrounded by all that good stuff.
I've often asked myself the question, "What's the freaking deal?" It's like being given a little taste of heaven, and then being plopped back down on earth. I don't want to spend the rest of my life trying to scramble up hills, trying to get there again, because I know from experience where that gets me.
Maybe that was my once in a lifetime thing? I don't know.
I guess my question to you is the same I ask myself, "What's the freaking deal with this?"
