Yes, I do believe that there is a universal consciousness out there, in some form or another. But before I get to that, I think we are underestimating the human potential. Science fiction today, science fact tomorrow.
Thoughts are energy, I think we can agree on that. This energy is sent out into the universe in a form we are not attuned to. I mean that most people are not attuned to. A book is just a more concrete, easily distinguished form of this energy. The thoughts are out there, we don't really need the books. But we are not to that level yet. How to get to the paramount of information gathering? Good question. I would start with baby steps. first we learn how to understand body language and vocal tones. Then we understand spoken words, and moving on to written words through the conscious mind, then next we take a leap of faith, and transend into the realm of the imagination. Photoreading. Yes, photoreading, unconscious cognition of written words. Amazing stuff. So the next viable step would be unconscious cognition of unspoken, unwritten words. Of course, it would probably be easier to have your hand on the book, hell, even Jesus (no, I don't believe, but still a good example) laid hands on the sick. He could have (supposedly) healed from any distance, so why the laying on of hands? Because it's just plain easier. That energy does not have to travel so far, or be distorted, if that can happen by thought noise.
This sounds insane. Really, I have to get back to my studying before I completely lose my mind.
