Dear all,

On Page 39 of the PhotoReading (PR) course manual there's an illustration which illustrates the PR process, including Input, Process and Output. The illustration also mentions Perceptual Defenses (PD) and Repression Mechanisms (RM.) Do any of you know more about these two areas - PD + RM, and can you recommend any books which will explain these concepts and the other concepts on the illustration further?

Thanks,

Gary

I don't know anything technical about them. But, i think that i finally have some inkling as to how to deal w/ them!

I had success w/ PhRing, but always questioned it. Then, the more successful i became, the more hesitant i became b/c i just couldn't believe such success would continue. I finally stopped PhRing b/c of the stress of the PhRing process. It just seemed too illusive for me. I *conquered* it so to speak, & then stopped. I started up again this past summer for a course i was taking & have been continuing it ever since.

After reading about the experience of others who did Pete's exercise, i finally started to feel something in my body, i.e., mouth watered, stomach twitched, feeling in my thighs as i PhR intense material.

I may be in left field w/ this response, but this is what i consider Perceptual Defenses and Repression Mechanisms. I just had a considerable amount of fear in my ability to do it.....even though i was successful from the beginning.

They are also mentioned in the History of PhotoReading article in the PhotoReading section of our website.

Thanks for the info, I'll study the article and get back to you with any more questions I may have.
