I know that all you experts out there and those who are becoming, have been trying to explain to the newbies that you have to give in to faith and work at it. intuition and all that. but my problem is that nearly all of those suggestions are related to 'listening'! would you suggest a deaf person to 'listen' to a tape?
I've tried various techniques to activate and not all worked with minimal results. I want to be surprised, i want to believe it - without needing to listen to the tapes!!!!!

hopeful,

Miss Eggy,

For myself, when I suggest "listening," I'm really talking about paying attention to internal signals while activating. Aside from having a word pop into my mind while PRing a book, I've never noticed audible signals while activating. I tend to get images and feelings. Have you paid attention to your internal images and your internal feelings while activating and PRing? You might be surprised at the kinds of signals you get (it could be a physical sensation, an emotional feeling, etc.). I eventually decided that anything I noticed may be a signal and this has proven to be pretty accurate. I read an intuition expert who said that intuition is basically the bubbling up of information from our inner mind and, thus, EVERYTHING that we notice is a signal from our intuition. We just tend not to notice the more subtle signals. I suppose that makes sense in a world where entertainment gets more "in your face" by the day. Maybe we're getting so overstimulated that it takes a lot of effort to notice subtle signals.

The only time I use my hearing faculties at all while using the PR process is to sometimes listen to music to help me relax and get into state. Are you able to accomplish that in your own way?

Miss Eggy, I suspect you didn't give activation a chance. Read the "Works on all Material" article in the PhotoReading section of the website. You'll know what I mean.

By the way, people who are deaf often have more experiences with spontaneous activation because noise from the outside world doesn't drown out signals coming from within.

hey Pete... are you a psycho?
no offense but in a way you are right about me not giving activation a chance. I did do the drawing of mind mapping and the question thing and sort of playing with it but right off it just didn't come to me.
Have you ever heard of this... if you lack a lot in one sense then you are better in the other sense?
I meant like , if you're a blind man, you would have heightened hearing or sense of gravity because of the fact that you lack sight.
Well for me lack of hearing has given me more eyes. which means that there is more eye 'noise' for me than there might be for you. even if i did the PR at night there'd be this ant creeping along the wall which would be about 10 metres away or a flutter of movement in the corner of my eye. and this is ALL the time. I've already got a pretty wide vision because of that. I don't know if that's supposed to help. I've seen comments on this forum in the past about how people realise that their viewpoint has widened a lot because they'd been using soft gaze more from PR. What that sounds to me like I've already achieved what I need to achieve and now I need to watch out for subtle intuition or whatever it is that tells me anything about what I've PRed.
I will try to keep on activiting. and who knows it might start happening. Thanks Pete for pointing that activition suspicion out! :P

It's same here with me that I have no problem with using my eyes in Photoreading because they are well-trained so I can see a great many things that hearing people normally don't.

The sound for a hearing one is vivid which be listen in their head but to me I have to create a vivid picture in my head and it would help me remember and activate other parts of knowledge. But it's not easy because it requires a hard work to create that "vivid picture". Sometimes mindmapping is helpful but not always. An another way to do this easier is "learning by doing", for example buying toys and play with them, put in triggers on toys or like that.

I'm testing different solutions to make
activations easier to me, like "learning
by doing" or when I swim....It's all what I can say right now.
