Yes, it's important that you tape it, or you must have a listener.
With IS it's important to get feedback, else you won't improve so quick as the book describes (did you read the book?).
Feedback is important for a learning process. No feedback, no learning.
Feedback is one of the things I miss in our schools (Europe, The Netherlands).
It's like darting, if you don't see where you hit the board, you don't know how to improve your darting.
