One other aspect:

I sometimes pratice Imagestreaming. I found that WITHOUT a tape, I lose focus and it becomes more like the everyday conversations in my head.
The tape, presenting a POTENTIAL audience, helps me to focus on the Imagestream. It simply helps to concentrate.

Similar experiences can be made by acting: While on stage with an audience, I'm totally focussed, in the moment, sometimes even multitasking. Without an audience, during the rehearsals, it just doesn't come to this.

By the way, from the pages of Project Renaissance, you should find your way to some skripts from Rick Ashby. These skripts claim to help you to become a better Imagestreamer, they even help you to create an inner listener which can be used as a replacement for the tape recorder. I didn't try this, I just don't have the equipment to tape these skripts in a satisfying quality.

Keep on Imagestreaming, seems like a great technique.
