I am starting to use the system, but I read mor novels than scientific jargon. Thus far I have not PRed a scientific book but am preparing to read a novel. The activation step therefore seems absolutely useless. Does it actually serve a point, can it be left out completely and replaced by rapid reading which seems to make more sense, and for which books would apply one [activation] and not the other [rapid reading] or use both.

I don't want to sound as if I am skeptical, but the activation methods seem absolutely useless for what I have in mind: reading thousands of novels and maybe a few scientific things here and there.

On a paraliminal point: when will you [Learning Strategies] consider bringing out CD versions of these programs [tapes don't have have the quality or lasting of CDs which can also hold more] and perhaps with more than one program on the CDs or even the entire collection on, say, a 5 CD set. I would be the first customer to purchase this set, since I hesitate to purchase a tape -far inferior to a CD - that is easily destroyed/ruined.

Do as you like. That's the good thing about the Photo Readind Whole Mind System: You choose what steps you apply and when you apply them.

And, in my opinion, Rapid Reading is activation. It is just seperated as a single step because it is most like normal reading.
As I see it, everything you do with a text after photoreading it, is activation - if named so or not.

So, RapidRead first and later, when you need specific details out of the novel, Mindprobe and/or Superread&Dip.

How many times do I have to photoread [actual step 3 Photoread] something before I can begin to activate/rapidread it. Is once enough or is it advisable to Photoread a few times before activating.... or even photoread and activate a couple of times.
Hey, I love my books and hate to miss out on anything [I read most four times over for further enjoyment] so I want the best outta this here system.

You can start activating after PRing the book the first time. PRing more often gives experience in the process, and, as often said on this DB, PR whatever you can, as often as you can.

Activation is normally not a "one time thing". Each time you pick up the book and do something to it/with it, that means its content , you are activating. If you read your books four times, that counts as four activations.

For experience, you can for each PRing state a different goal: To get the atmosphere, to get the subtle characteristics of the characters in the book, and so on.

We'll have programs out on CD before too long. Folks who have the audio cassette version of anything that comes out on CD will be able to upgrade cheaply.

Right now, however, the percentage of our customers who will buy CDs is quite small. That is changing as our Internet business grows. Last year it accounted for 25% of our retail business. This year it will be close to half (excluding radio and TV sales, which are through a distributor).
