The problem with Photoreading as the topic of a research paper is that it will be very difficult to come by scientifically accurate reports that would be accepted as supporting evidence. I doubt all that much formal research has been done on the subject, though it's worth a shot.
The untapped potential of the human brain is good but a bit broad, same with the 10% idea. Talk to your teacher, work together to find out what is best.
Now if you were doing a doctoral thesis, you would have the time and resources to conduct your own study....
