I've had various teachers throughout my formative years try to teach bits and pieces of accelerated learning, but I think they themselves do not have a confident grasp of the material, and also the students don't take things that seriously. I remember thinking, "heck, I don't need that childish crap, it's too much work." And the problem is that at first it does seem a bit tough, because it is so foreign. If such things had been introduced at an earlier age, I don't think the barriers would have been in place. You really have to start young, when the cloud of doubt doesn't overshadow all the positive gains that accelerated learning has to offer. Teachers trying to tell me their way was better only annoyed me and made me look down on these processes, and these eariler misconceptions were a roadblock that I had to break down later when I decided for myself that I wanted what was being offered. But still I have to discover on my own without any great support from the educators that surround me.
