You're thinking that the myth says "we use 10% our our brain structure" and that the other 9 out of 10 pieces just sit there.
Potential vs. Structural Usage.
Further, William James, the originator of the myth was the #1 proponent of Pragmatism. How pragmatically useful is it to you to believe that you use 100% of your brain? If the '10% myth' is a lie, it's a good one. It's one of those 'lies of success'. Why? It's functional; it serves me to believe that I have so much potential to expand.
