The same idea. Be as vivid as possible when you initially memorize it. Some people hav ea hard time even thinking abstractly. So one has to create a relationship wiht the concept on his own.
If you've ever read Plato's Republic - Plato tells a story about the Cave. There were poepl in the cave who always had their backs to the entrance and had never turned around. they saw shodows of objects, people, animals what have you and heard rumers that there was a life of things going on outside their cave, but they for generations refused to turn around.
In Christianity we have posters of a cross (representing Christ) stretched out across a chasm bridging earth to Heaven - the chasm being hell.
