I know what you mean Tracy.
I was reminded of situations of memorising poetry having to recite it line by line or else rewrite it in the correct layout. Another situation that came to mind is in a policing situation the officer has to issue a verbal warning it had to be worded exactly as in the offical written text and memorised. It proved to be rather difficult because none of the words formed visual associations. It would have helped if it could have been read. However fail to give the correct warning from memory on testing, you failed, redo entire course.
