Maybe better than a string down the middle; you could put two strings equidistant from the center of the monitor. When your gaze diverges you would see a total of three strings, the same effect as with 3D pictures.
You may want to keep in mind that using a 'crutch' like this or the blip page itself isn't really necessary. They are tools to help you get in the right mind state, but not having the blip page won't impede your progress.
