No, it's not odd when you delve deeper into what's going on.
If you listen to alpha sounds or baroque, you would even get greater results.
The accelerated books i've gotten also seem to think Halpern's music & Deep Breakfast are also very helpful for maintaining the alpha brain wave. I know Quietude definitely does entrain you w/ alpha. Also the Sliva people have a straight alpha tape. But i think you can down load alpha sounds easily.
