paul mentioned in the PR book that they held documented tests on some scientific channel.
it showed photoreaders read from computer screens at amazing speeds. after it they all did comprehension tests. paul & pete also had had many demonstrations they gave theirselves on the radio & on national television when they photoread & activated in the presence of live audience. ive never seen them committing this act yet i still believe the validity of the system because it just works 4 me. imho u sound like u havent even read the book. i suggest that minimally just buy it. even if this whole system "doesnt work"
& u will still learn to read&comprehend much faster & effectively using the conscious parts of the system. whats 2 lose there?
if there was a test i would be there 
although im really new still i have belief, & the system does work greatly 4 me. so still i can surpass any normal reader in means of speed & comprehension..in my opinion its not even comparable, its as the call it "a quantom leap" .the comprehension i obtain through photoreading is like in a leap in my ability 2 recall it & my understanding is much greater. so in conclusion just try!!
