Who doesn't want 'vast' comprehension of texts for which they will be tested on?? I need as much as possible plain and simple! The other day, a text I'd photoread, I found myself having to read the 'old way' and my 'rapid reading' seemed to have to revert to the EXACT form of reading I'd done before with a small improvement in overall comprehension. Is this activation? I'm following everything, but the results are not impressive. Perhaps for things such as this that have much 'relaxation' as an inherent part of the course, a seminar or coach is MANDATORY. The book says that you can succeed with the book itself...so far, it's not life changing.
And for photoreading the paper, or memos...bottom line is, you need that information immediately most of the time. What good is photoreading a newspaper if you consciously don't know what you've read? A day later, you're activating old news.
I have more texts to be studying, so I'd appreciate some CONCRETE advice. Please also, try to avoid the term "play with it!" Aside from annoying, it's such a copout of a phrase!:-)
Still wanting to succeed at it,
