The question on whether there is a relation between a high IQ and photoreading has fascinated me for quite a while. Though IQ is claimed to be a measure of general intelligence, the claims made by it have been hotly debated. One thing is for sure, IQ does measure something. Moreover, IQ tends to emphasize academic abilities - such as numeracy and literacy - with various IQ scales meaning different levels of "intelligence".
Now, to remove any bias - I have a high IQ and scaled high especially in logical (or reasoning) intelligence. Moreover, I've found myself very comfortable with Photoreading because it resembles a lot my learning style - and I immediately fell in love with it and found it effective.
That said, I think that PhotoReading stimulates the whole brain in the formation of ideas and questions. When you photoread a book, you are putting at your disposal unconscious resources which you would not normally use with regular reading. In other words, you are not just reading passively but getting into an active state of mind.
Though one cannot deny that HIGH IQ might help in increasing success with PR, PR itself encourages one to think about the material at hand.
Remember: IQ is only a measure, and does not define who you are. The more you use your mind, the more it will respond. Stimulation is the key word here.
Conclusion: I guess PR mimics a lot how a genius interprets his world, and so I think that it will help you a lot. However, don't expect astounding results immediately (even I did at first) for you'll be disappointed.
The gist: don't worry about IQ - anyone can succeed if he or she really wants and puts his mind to it. So, photoread!!!
