Ignore IQ scores if I were you-unless you decide to find out if you can increase your score (you can). It's a nonsense that it measures intelligence or that it is a fixed measure. It will measure very narrow specialised aspects of your intellect, but again mood, energy and practice can vary it so much that it makes a mockery of something that once was claimed to be fixed for life.
Even adults grow new brain cells and new connections. This is something you can find out for yourself :-). This being true the idea of an IQ test is about 30 years out of date the last time I looked.
My own scores varied from 135 to 155 Cattel scale during a 2 day period. It doesn't reflect me at all.
I've met some very clever people in their fields who score much lower numbers, but I know they outclass me in lots of things.
IQ scores are often good for the ego but not a lot else. Learn to use your brain for as much or as little as you want.
Last comment, I was skimming through some printoffs of the Reith lectures on the Emerging Mind. One particular observation struck me. It was mentioned that the current IQ theory (Nature vs Nurture debate) is that 48% of your IQ was decided by genetics and 52% by environment-i.e you and your interaction with the world. Now it's true a portion of that % would be very quickly affected when your very young. But there's still a large chunk left for developement after. That is if this theory has any resemblance to the truth of course :-).
P.S If you think about the scores I just gave, and the quality of my writing here LOLOL you'll be seeing what I mean about their use.
