I have been experimenting with different photofocus gazes and haaave found that if I converge my eyes to a point before the book but allow my focal plane to be on the book - that I still get a blib page and the sof focus look that I get when I use the divergent gaze - but it is easier for me to keep because I hung a piece of black string from my baseball cap in front of my eyes and thus never had a problem keeping my eyes focused on the string.
So, will a convergent gaze work as well as a divergent one?
Spatial Setup: I found it easiest when the pencil or string or whatever you choose to look at is halfway between my eyes and the book. You will notice that the pencil or string can be aligned to be directly in the middle of the blip page. The size of the blib page can be incresed or decreased simply by moving the book back or forward, respectively; or by moving the pencil/string closer to make the blip page bigger aand vice versa.
Second question, does the size of the blip page matter at all?
Lastly, I also noticed a cool effect when I bring the pencil/string to with-in 12 inches of my eyes and then relax my eyes. The pencil/string is out of focus (though my eyes are still fixed on it - thus are giving a converged view of the book)but the book becomes crystal clear and full of depth. Does the hard focused words mean that this particular convergent gaze is not a photofocus state (or will not work as one since I am assuming right now that convergent or divergent gazes does not make a difference)?
