I know what you mean about the Amazon.com reviews! Half of them sing high praise and the other half are from really angry sounding customers. But I don't think that means it doesn't work. I think that people may have a logical block to it working. For what it is worth, I havenn't got it to work yet either, and I felt annoyed, but the theory looks as though it can work, so I'm sticking at it.
As for getting answers to your questions, I asked what I considered to be an intelligent question about photoreading and language learning. The absence of an answer from anyone at LSC leads me to believe that "Photoreading" has its limitations. So good luck with getting an answer!
