Hi Raanan.

I have an idea for you in relation to your question (number 2). I think this is the next best thing to the silence you wanted. Well, if you start hearing music, then why don't you "push into the spin" and put some music on while you are doing it, but not just any music. I have heard from many sources about the positive effects on learning of using slow baroque music, which helps you to get into alpha and, in turn helps you to learn. It's just a thought. I also heard that Mozart was beneficial too, but I am not sure whether it is suitable for getting into alpha. You can also get specially made music for learning. Anyway, I hope that was a little help.

Off the top of my head,

Pachelbel's canon

Winter, second movement from Vivaldi's "Four Seasons"

Air on a g string (second movemnet from Bach's third orchestral suite)

are all good choices.
