The key is to remember you're not focusing but merely noticing. If you were glasses you may want to photoread with glasses one but remember to use a focus more related to distant viewing than regular reading vision.

The text will be a bit blurred and that 's fine, as long as you're noticing the four corners of the book, the pattern of the white instead of looking at the text, an imaginary X and you're relaxed with your vision, body and mind you'll do fine with photoreading.
