Hey Jovo, although I just finished Tape 2 of the home study course, I think the Star of Wonder exercise is a bit deeper than the cocktail weenie effect. The SoW exercise has some wow effect like the CW, but it shows you that what you need does not always come from what you see. See, the exercise has you trace around a star on a piece of paper by relying on a mirror image of the star. The brain lock idea is that when people just rely on what they see in the mirror to trace the star, when it comes to changing directions, their hand-eye coordination gets all screwed up and you hand starts going in circles, or backtracks, or pretty much does nothing. The course tells you how to get past the brain lock by NOT relying on what you see in the mirror, but instead to rely on what you already know in your mind...the shape of the star. With that known, you only use the mirror image as reference as to whether or not you're on track, and when you have to change direction...see, everything happens "behind your eyes" in your mind, not in your eyes.
I hope that answers the question.
Take care,
LBS
