Can any body tell me if "Personal Genius" Tape really works.

Absolutely!

I have been using it for 3 yrs. very successfully.

Just make sure your goal for listening very clearly reflects your thinking. I find it works best if it is stated in 1 sentence.

Then just forget about it. Really, forget about it.

I used it recently w/ a particular course that was intimidating to me. I did not even attempt to begin studying until my attitude changed. I used PG for about 7-10 days (off & on). Result: I just picked up the book & started activating it w/o much effort.

First i used PG to get myself interested in dull material.

Then i used PG to get myself motivated to tackle it b/c it was 700+ pages long.

Then i used PG to understand RAS b/c that was a big problem.

Then i used PG to hone in for stuff that needed to be learned for the test purposes.

It worked! Good Luck!

Margaret, that's an encouraging story. Thanks.

To add to your comments: I've wondered whether or it's more effective to use PG in the "vague" way suggested (toward all learning in general), or toward a specific learning goal. With that in mind, I've begun putting some of my more important goals printed on index cards. Like your 1 sentence suggestion, I've found it useful to clearly define the specific goal I have for a listening session beforehand.

Paul,
I have used the PG tape in both a general way applying it to my life in general and also for specific situations.

I found that when used in a general way I seem to have much clearer and faster insight into ways of solving daily difficulties.

In focusing on a specific goal, I found that after about a week of daily use I have made some breakthroughs toward a goal that I have been working towards for 7 years now. The experience is almost like an "aha" moment when the blinders are lifted off. I am not where I want to be yet with my goal but I am well on my way and will be using direct learning and other paraliminal tapes to help me get to where I want to be.

Gregory,
It's good to know that you've had success using PG both ways. Today will be my second day in applying this tape toward a goal. If my experience mirrors yours and Margaret's, I can look forward to having some sort of breakthrough shift in learning, soon.

Hmmn...
Would listening to PG for a specific goal also aid general learning? Pete might know this one.
