Anyway, here are the answers:
1. yes, it's normal;
2. you don't run your eyes over anything; you look at one point far behind the book and don't move the eyes (there's no need to, that's what photofocus is for);
3. Blip page by itself is optional/individual thing (not everyone sees it), therefore its width is also (some see wide some see narrow blip). So, your blip is fine.
