Is this the wrong choice to read, for someone just trying to buildup one's understanding of photoreading?

Also, I am having trouble acheiving the BLIP! Currently, I focus above and behind the book, with clear focus of all four corners.

Cheers

That sounds familiar. I only have the photoreading book from the library with the course on order and I was doing the same thing for the first week.(I only did the Einstein icons reading method...)

When I read more closely, it said to focus above and behind the book which I was doing. Then it said to move your focus down to look through the center of the book. When I did this, then I got the blip page clearly. The way I understand it is that you need to look through the center of the book, diverging your eyes. If I am wrong, please let me know.

The difficulty I am having is in keeping the divergence. As I turn the page, my eyes are distracted by the motion and often try to refocus on the new page. I can sometimes get a few pages before this happens...

Any suggestions on how to keep the Photofocus for longer periods of time, or does it just require more practice and training of the eyes?

BTW: I am using this for technical manuals, like GSM and C programming, as well as personal development books. My expectation is that my mind can take care of all the details, no matter what I am reading!

Have a super day, chad the rad dad :^P

Apparently from what I have gathered by scanning through messages, is that it's not a good idea to start off reading technical books for approximately 1 month.
I believe Dana can shed more light on this as I am trying to gain as much insight as possible.
Good luck on your experience!

To build a solid foundation for success with PhotoReading, I recommend you first focus on "mastering the basics." That means learning how to do the whole system correctly, all five steps and the techniques.

The best way I know of, whether you have just the "how-to" book or the home study program is, to Prepare/Preview/PhotoRead 7-10 books a week for one month. And, each week, go back and Activate/Rapid Read a couple of those books. Plan to have multiple 30-minute Activation sessions using all the techniques until the whole book "gels" and you have full comprehension, from "whole to parts." You get a much deeper experience of a book, starting at 3-times faster than what you can with just regular-reading.

If you have extra time during that first month, you can Prepare & PhotoRead any book. Anything. But, use all the techniques in each step.

Use the process and play with it so you get the benefits you looked into PhotoReading for in the first place.

Hope this helps. Feel free to post more questions. Everyone jumps in with tips and advice, too.

Thanks for your reply Dana.
Can you explain to me the PhotoFocus state. Ok, when I photoread a book I try to look behind and over the top, while maintaining peripheral vision of the four corners. I still do not acheive the BLIP! Am I doing something wrong.

Cheers for your support

The 5-day plan is easier to do. The 7-10 books a week is more detailed and thorough. Try out the 5-day plan first, then graduate on to the 7-10 per week for a month, fully activating a couple of those books each week.

Post your first "gel" experience, when an entire book comes together and you have full comprehension.

The Blip?

Well, it happens automatically when you put your hard focus just above and a foot or so beyond the top of the book. Then gradually bring your center focal point in the middle of the center crease. It takes several PhotoReads to build up strength in how you're using your eye muscles in a new way.

The key is to hold a "soft gaze" for all the words on both pages, and flip about a page per second in a steady rhythm and comfortable pace. Use the closing affirmations on pg.51 of the blue PhotoReading book, then a half hour later start activating in 30-minute sessions. Remember to Mind Probe with your trigger words from Preview first before SuperReading & Dipping, so your inner mind knows where to intuitively guide you for answers.

Keep us all posted with your "ah-ha" experiences!

The action described by Dana "center focal point in the middle of the center crease".
I am trying to clarify that statement, are you suggesting that once the hard focus has been set above and beyond the book, you should then gradually bring your focus directly to the centre crease of the book?

Cheers

Dear ZenSpa,

A couple of weeks ago I got new prescription for my glassess. As a result, I lost the clarity in the letters when I attempted to see the blip page. I could manage to diverge my focus and see the blip page; unfortunately, everything on the pages became blurry. What I did, then, was to place the Random Dot Stereogram (in the workbook that comes with the audio lesson) right behind the book. Once I have managed to see the 3-D structures and writings in the stereogram, I regained clarity on the pages. I did this for 3-4 days. Now I can see the blip page without using the stereogram and could still maintain clarity on the pages. You may want to consider this approach is all else fails.
