It took me a couple of weeks to get results. In the beginning it was a bit frustrating simply because I was looking hard for it! But once I decided to focus on tailoring the technique to what worked best for me, on top of having a "whatever" attitude towards achieving results, I became deliciously surprised to see that it works!

(FYI: I only used the book for now)
I was also confused as to how relaxed I was supposed to be as well. With time I realized that as long as I am relaxed enough to go through the material without having that "I want to do something else now" feeling, everything will work. If I notice my concentration drifting away, I do not force myself to go on with it, but take a break instead until I feel like coming back. Relaxing gets a lot easier with practice, believe me.
Good luck!

PS: Last week I was asleep in the middle of the night when I suddenly woke up and thought to myself: "Pete!". It turns out I slept with the living room TV turned on and my mind woke me up during the PR infomercial
