I just bought the photoreading book. I have read it using the different icons to read at different times and am now going through the entire book page by page.

I now have a question for anyone out there. How do you manage to turn pages in a book at one per second? I am having a hard time holding/propping up the book and still turning the pages without jarring the book and losing my "focus". I haven't found an answer in the book although I haven't finished it yet either. Any suggestions?

Also, what are other experiences with just the book? Are they good? Do you really need the self study course? I wish I had learned this b/f I went to grad school! I might have had more of a social life with so much less time invested in reading! Plus, I might have actually read the books that I spent hundreds on instead of using them as coffee table deco.

Basically as mentioned in a previous post, I PR with my leg crossed and the book resting on my thigh. As far as page turning, with my right hand, I use the top first section of my index finger. Sometimes the middle of that section or I use the cease of that section. My thumb slides upwards in contact with the page as my index finger moves from the center crease on the top left of the page over to the top right of the page in a clockwise motion. Once at the far top right of the page, the top crease of the index finger lifts the page then, I use the little finger to continue turning the page over. Works Great!!!! Turning a clump of pages at a time is kept to a minimum if any. I hope my technique helps.

1> Page Flipping: Flipping through the pages took a little practice for me to get down. I ended up taking 2 books, sat legs folded, closed my eyes and felt the pages as I flipped them. I went through the book like this only focusing on the flipping. I found that my flipping changed from beginning, middle and end.

2> after going through the tapes and book, I am convinced that someone can successfully learn the PR system by using the book and this forum. With using the tapes, you are lead through the process on an audio level. For those who learn audio, this will be Ideal. You will not get the advantage of being lead through the process of obtaining the ideal learning state.

Long story short, If you are a self learning and saving $$ is the modivation, I don't see why you would not be able to go through the process and learn it from the book. If $$ is less of an option then the tapes are more of a guided process.

PR is insainly simple. When you strip away the steps and process and understand the intentions behind how it works, its insain how simple it really is.

Points for success:
Read and understand how to obtain the ideal learning state. Practice it. Pay attention and feel the differences. I found this to be the hardest. Once you get there once realize that the mental picture in your mind of the flower is your key to return.
Understand PhotoFocus. If you don't find a clear understanding on the forum, don't hesitate to ask.
Practice flipping the page. Like riding a bike, once you got it and find your balance in it, it'll be like, ahh, riding a bike.

Once you have these basic skills down, then start applying them to the process. The success of PR is its simplisty. I have always been a believer in the KIS method. (Keep It Simple)

Yes, and it's similar to how we learned to ride a bike. Once we "got it" you realize how simple it is. Although I had my fair share of scuffed knees.

thanks...I'll try it. I lose the "blip" page when the book moves from turning pages the traditional way of hand over hand...if that makes any sense.

Blip page: The blip page is less important then the focus itself. Some see it, some don't. Important part is maintaining the learning state. When you are flipping the pages, try to let you mind almost ignore the fact you are doing it. Imagin the feeling of your brain filing the data, page after page into your mind. Paul instructs to do the chant. "4-3-2-1..." Stick with the instructions while you are developing the skills. But remember, play with it.

The blip page and chanting are nothing more then to destract your mind from the words on the page. This is to set your consious mind aside while your other then con mind drinks up the information.
