You are right. Although I am vey new to PhotoReading, it was very easy to get into the PhotoFocus state from the very first try. I did not need to look at the top of the page in order to see the "plip" page.
To me this came very naturally while focusing on the center of the book. However my sucess was due in big part because several years ago I looked at a lot of 3D Pictures. (like the ones you pointed out to) Some of these 3D Pictures have two "guiding dots" at the bottom to help you get the right "focus". Howeve as you get better at it, it will not be necessary... and you will see the picture immediately.
All you have to do to see the "blip" page is apply the same technique while PhotoReading.
