Do you have to be in the accelerated learning state when activating? I haven't successfully activated any books yet and I've been doing this for a couple of weeks. I feel like I'm just skimming a book when I try to superread and I ask the questions like 'Who was the main character?'. Well, I know I'm not getting it when the answer to that question would be a bird but I'm reading Ghostbusters . HELP! Lately, I've been doing postviewing and then waiting to activate but that doesn't help either....

It definitely helps to be in the accelerating learning state. Activation can come in many forms that we normally are not unaware of when they happen but you should not depend solely on these events. Instead use the techniques such as super-reading, rapid-reading, mind-mapping, and others. When using these technique ensure that you are in the accelerated learning state and in a place that is quiet and comfortable for you.

Actually, all you need to do to activate is the "Tangerine Technique" which automatically puts you into the "ideal state for learning."

One of the techniques that works great for me in getting into the "ideal state for learning" is as follows (I learned this from a mind enhancing book several years ago, and have adapted it to PhotoReading)

1) Close your eyes
2) While keeping your eyes closed, rotate your eyes 40 degrees toward the top of your head. Pretend you are trying to look at your eyebrows from "inside" your eye cavity.
3) This will immediately get your mind into a natural relaxed state; and your eyes will feel very relieved (kind of like your neck feels when you get a neck rub)
4) While keeping this posture you will immediately begin to feel a sensation on the top/back of your head. All you have to do is imagine it's a tangerine sitting there.
5) Take 3 deep breaths, relax your body.
6) Remind yourself to "widen your vision"

At this point you should have reached the "accelerated learning state". Furthermore, as you get used to this technique; all you'll have to do is: Close your eyes; rotate your eyes "feel the tangerine", and take 1 deep breath.
