The Regimen. (you guys are going to love this!)
This past week, I’ve been playing with all sorts of variations of the method described in the “Repeated Listenings” post. Through much trial and error, this is what I have come up with:

Has anyone here ever tried Delta Meditation?

I have been looking into ways to decrease my need for sleep while simultaneously attending to the needs of both body and mind for many years.

One hour of deep, slow wave delta meditation is equivalent to the healing properties of 3 to 4 hours of actual sleep!!!

It is the deepest state of bodily and mental relaxation that is possible—delta meditation is MUCH deeper than any stage of sleep.

I only mention it, because I have institutionalized two daily hour-long Delta Meditations into my daily regimen that double as Paraliminal sessions!

Paul, I got this from the link you posted:
“somnambulists can carry out complex motor actions and respond appropriately to sensory input during very deep (stage 4) sleep, but cannot recall their actions and responses once they awaken.”

This is all that I needed to know!! Stage 4 NREM sleep is ultra slow delta waves! The study this is taken from says that in that stage we can ‘respond appropriately to sensory input’ even though you cannot remember upon waking. GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!!!

This is great news for Paraliminal sessions, because it means that the data is being registered and processed “somewhere” in the mind. This is not so great news for sleep learning material, because there is no conscious recollection, however.

So, here’s the latest iteration of this regimen I’ve been working on:

One thing to note is that Delta Meditation only takes care of Bodily health. It is incredibly healing in that sense.

However, you don’t get access to any of the other stages of sleep that are necessary for ‘mental focus’ and ‘memory consolidation’. In order to get this kind of ‘mental sleep’, you’ve got to sleep normally for at least 4 hours.

So,

10PM to 2AM – Regular Sleep
6 waking hours
8AM to 9AM – Delta Meditation with Super Paraliminal Session
6 waking hours
3PM to 4PM – Delta Meditation with Super Paraliminal Session
6 waking hours

The Paraliminal Session is composed of the following:

1. The ‘going down’ partition of Memory Supercharger 6:57

2. The Paraliminal partition of Memory Supercharger 5:57
3. The Paraliminal partition of Personal Genius 3:20
(I loop parts 2 and 3 SIX times)

4. The ‘rising’ partition of Personal Genius 2:39

This is all done on a Winamp playlist, so I don’t have to bother with any tape dubbing.
Total running time is 1 hr 5 min.

I found the MS ‘going down’ to be much better than the PG ‘going down’ because he uses the ‘staring at one object’ technique, his tone of voice is so… ‘absolute’ and ‘commandingly playful’ if that’s not a contradiction… Further, his voice echoes sometimes as he speaks. Lots of very little things like these make this induction at least twice as powerful for me. Compared to the PG induction, the MS one really packs a punch! Knocks me out every time these days!

Interestingly, I found the PG ‘rising’ to be much better than the MS ‘rising’ because #1 the music is ever-inspiring, and #2 Paul S. offers suggestions between the numbers. Oddly, in MS, there are no memory suggestions as you wake up!?!

A word about the sentences Paul says before the Paraliminal session:
“You have a sincere belief in the power of the human mind” in MS
“Your personal genius now coming through” in PG

WOW, as soon as I hear these or even think of these I get zapped! They act like NLP genius anchors! Because I kept them in the looped sessions, I hear each one 12 times a day.

Now for the binaural beat, I use the free Brainwave Generator program found at bwgen.com.

The first 7 minutes coincide with Paul S’s induction. I start at 13 hz and move down to 6 hz in that time. For the next 8 minutes I go from 6 hz to 3.4 hz. The next 47 minutes I spend going from 3.4 to 1.5hz. For the final three minutes, I shoot up really fast from 1.5 hz to 40 hz to make sure that I get up, because this is a state of the most profound relaxation you can imagine—you feel like you got run over by a Mack truck!

If you are a registered user of the Brainwave Generator, I suggest importing the preset DeepMind II and making the necessary alterations with those settings—it has the ideal carrier frequencies/background sounds etc.

Finally, *gasp* I pipe this through my Proteus Mind Machine to add in Light Entrainment from the audiostrobe goggles too!

And there you go! Voila!

(I feel like a chef...)

Brian,
I would like to say that you must have an awful lot of time on your hands I'm jealous!
How is the brain wave generator working for you? Can you recommend any presets or supply some of your own that will help w/the deep sleep?
How long have you been doing the sleep reduction studies and have there been noticable side effects?
Can recording the generator sessions be a possibility so they can be added to WA playlist? Or are the beats randomized?
I just downloaded the generator and will install today after work so I don't understand the process yet. Any tips would be helpful if you get the time. Thanks
Jeff

Brian,

I found your post fascinating! I have been interested in sleep reduction for years, and playing around with some methods to attain that.

I found that holosync, even without the floating soundtrack, greatly reduces the need for sleep. What you say sounds fascinating, but 2 hours of delta????

Why do you feel the need for light AND sound entrainment? If you're entrained, there really isn't much need to convince yourself of it again!!!

Has anyone tried practicing QiGong with mind machines? I know LS cautions against combining meditation, but mind machines are discipline nuetral.

Whew!

It’s the best thing since un-sliced bread! (I prefer to slice my own bread) ...and its free.

If you are just beginning with Delta Meditation, it might be best to hold off on the paraliminals and spend the first 30 minutes going from say…15 hz to 4 hz. Once at 4, hold for the next 30 minutes. I’d do this until I got used to the experience. Begin with a higher carrier frequency.

Once you get used to it, you can lower the carrier frequency and the hz. Then you could shorten the time for the induction. Finally, once it is second nature, you could add the MegaParaliminal session.

I’ve been tinkering for at least a year now. Thriving off of 6 hours of sleep is not a problem, and, indeed, is rather easy. It’s when you go below that, in my experience, that things begin to get sticky.

I do have to say one thing about health, this would NOT be possible if I did not eat a high alkaline diet. One of the reasons why our bodies need so much sleep is because we eat so much acid producing food like meat, dairy, sugar, etc. By merely reducing your intake of high acid food and replacing it with MANY more vegetables, you will automatically notice a decline in sleep requirement.

If you are horrendous with diet and exercise… then you almost certainly get sick within a week of reduced sleep as the acid and toxins that you input from food build up.

The way I have set it up, I have four small files, two of which I put on repeat. It would be possible to make just one large file or one tape that is 1.10 hours long and put the binaural beats in the background with .wav recording software. But this would not leave room for experimentation—the session would be hardened in stone—you wouldn’t be able to tinker with it! --which is half the fun.

What you say sounds fascinating, but 2 hours of delta????

I originally got the idea from Anna Wise's book, The High Performance Mind. I find that a one hour meditation is completely rejuvenating... but only for a time. To paraphrase Mr. Shakespeare: When tiredness comes, it comes not single-handed, but in battalions.

If I wanted 4 hours sleep and 1 hour med...well, I do not think I would be able to keep this up for more than a day or two. What I want is a permanent habit…

Honestly, I don't think that I'd know how to reach 3hz and lower on my own. If I tried, I probably wouldn’t be able to go past traditional meditation levels of around 7hz or I’d probably fall asleep.

Also, for me, I find that entrainment is absolutely necessary in order to maintain that deep state with all of the paraliminal voices talking in my ears.

I have never tried straight QiGong, but I used to be heavily into Tai Chi. Are you familiar with the method of "putting on heads" that Win Wenger describes in the Einstein Factor? Basically, have a visualization session where you meet an expert in your field and then rip his head off and put it on yours--you spend some time seeing the world as he would see it and thinking as he would think, etc.

Occasionally, I would try this with the legendary founder of my Tai Chi lineage. My limbs would feel like dead weight, most of my energy stops would open, and movements would flow without thought. This is a great way to advance in such disciplines by completely bypassing your limiting beliefs—by simply HAVING FAITH.

Perhaps you might try this with the Master that Paul Scheele hired for Spring Forest?

Wow, much to digest here. Cool!

Brian, is your Mind Machine programmed to match the Brainwave Generator and paralimal changes -- or -- does it remain constant?

(If you have time to respond. No hurry)

With the BW Generator, you can program when and at what rate your mind machine goggles flash. The program uses something called Audiostrobe, which sends an inaudible sequence of sounds to the mind machine. It decodes these as the meditation progresses, and the glasses begin to flash at whichever frequency that you programmed it to. Very cool.

Not have the time!? I have a new problem now... too much time. What does one do with an extra four hours in the day... from 2am to 6am? Things get very quiet, the world is asleep, and I am awake. ...I must look for some new hobby or challenge to take up! Funny, I never thought too much time would be a problem... after all, we spend all our adult lives telling ourselves, "there's only so much time in the day."....

Brian,
I hope you keep a journal about this particular time in your life.

Or, just keep mind maps of this time. Some kind of record is important b/c of its uniqueness.

Question: You use the 2 listening scessions as a substitute for 2 hrs. of sleep. 4 hrs of regular sleep + the 2 listening scessions. My question is: Do you have any problem w/ getting to sleep for the 4 hrs.?

Thanks!

Hey brian....what do you think about cominging the music of Bandlers personal enhancemernt series with paraliminals? Also, what do you think of Mind-tek.com and where is a good site for a decent mind machine?

A complete overhaul of self. Questioning all habits and beliefs. Ripping out all that is suboptimal, replacing with something more self-serving. I am 5% the man I was before I began this insane journey. Our 'selves' are infinitely malleable. It has been a wild ride!

Do you have any problem w/ getting to sleep for the 4 hrs?

Supposedly, one hour of this type of meditation--done right--is equal to several hours of sleep. The way I have it set up, I seem to be right on the verge of sleep debt--just breaking even every time. I am interested to see if any sleep debt builds as time passes. Also, if memory, focus, or health start to fade. I should know after a couple weeks, whether or not I can exist on this for the rest of my life.

Another challenge is having to stick to the waking and sleeping times EXACTLY--also, I can never miss a meditation. One false move and the whole circadian rhythm goes boom!

Also, ...I've had to add a fourth meal to my day! No complaints here.

Hey brian....what do you think about the coming the music of Bandlers personal enhancemernt series with paraliminals? Also, what do you think of Mind-tek.com and where is a good site for a decent mind machine?

I haven't heard of the Bandler tape... what's it like?

Mind-tek? I am a pragmatist through and through. Something is good or bad depending on how well it serves you. Remote Viewing.... seems more in line with dalliance and recreation than something of practical value. --it doesn't seem very functional, or reproducable, or a valuable investment on time spent. (though I say this from a distance, never having actually approached it or considered its possibilites). Perhaps I should look into it? What are your thoughts on the beneficial aspects of remote viewing?

Mind machines? To my knowledge, the cheapest on the net is www.mindcare.com. --sells Orions for $110 (20 dollars less than anywhere else) + $6 s/h - www.mindcare.com. Their trial period is 60 days too. You have to call for prices b/c they're so low. My preference is for the Proteus though.
.
.
.
I'm surprised that no one has asked me the question of questions... namely, what results am I experiencing from the paraliminal sessions! Signman, you're still doing this, right? What have you noticed?

I haven't noticed much in the way of genius abilities. And I've only noticed ever so slight improvement in memory. That's been a disappointment so far.

I have noticed a huge increase in creative insight.

And something else IS definately VERY different--I seem to have perpetually activated the Natural Brilliance model--as if it were dormant inside me before this time. I can say that I'm essentially walking around in a state of Flow, 24/7. Kind of like a perpetual alpha state. The voice of the Self is dying!! I'll post more on 'effects noticed' maybe a week from now?

crazy stuff...
