When I PR, I can access the photofocus, but while I PR the book, sometimes I think about other thinks.
Is it correct?
About what should I think while PRing?
Should I imagine the tangerine?

Thanks

Welcome Braz-reader,

While learning, its best to try your best to stick with the chant. As far as it being good or bad to have your mind active on something else while you PR, I am not honestly sure. My instincts tell me that its more productive to have your mind focusing on the chant which includes "keep the state, see the page". I however wondered if having your mind drift helps to keep your mind from focusing on the text and let the information go in easier.

I would be interested to hear what others take on this is.

Whazzup Blkwolf, "I'm Back"!
For me it's a crap shoot! Sometimes chanting makes me nervous/edgey so I don't. I just concentrate on my breath and during that time my mind is thinking about other things, and I become relaxed again. But believe it or not, "it still works". A little tip that I picked up from GordonGT and I think Mgrego2 on the forum.

The other individual that doesn't chant is "Jens", not mgrego.

HEY!!! Yo bro,

So, Chanting itself is not a personal preference to remaining focused, in that, part of the question Braz has is about focus. It would be agreed on that focus is an important part.

While PR, I don't chant either. I visualize the process of PR itself.

As I flip the page, I visualize the data (represented as water) being sucked into my brain. The water once in my brain forms into an area where it changes and fluctuate into different things. When I'm done, the water become as a block of ice as my brain starts analyzing the information from each angle. Its not a linier stream like a scroll, but a cube of data.

Hope some of this helps Braz,

TTFN Allen,

Blk

Gregory,

That was a great post. Thanks!

BlkWolf,

Your method is similar to mine. As I PR, I "feel" the information building up in my gut. That's the best way to describe it. There is a physical sensation of build-up. When I do the closing statement and release the information for processing by my inner mind and body, I actually see and feel the information moving up into my brain. As that happens, I visualize pages being gathered and sorted. Then there is a brief sensation of information moving wherever it needs to be. A little odd, I suppose but it just happens that way.

I'm also not enamored with the chanting and prefer focusing on breathing to keep myself focused and relaxed.

Question to all:

Has anyone heard of thought location studies? (I don't know the technical term for it or anything)

Its the idea that certain types of thoughts focused on certain locations in the mind can cause a repeatable and desirable affect. The tangerine exercise is of that type of study. I have heard another one which spoke of imagining a feather circling clock wise over one of your ears (I don't know the exact details). Rotation one way would cause a soothing affect while the other caused an adrenal response. Allenhm, you hear of this technique being used for taping into adrenal sources as needed? I know that advanced studies of QiGong will use brain and bone washing. I suspect that this may be released by I still harvest much ignorance on the subject.

Anyone know of any studies/info about this?

Cya

brain washing?? oh no!!! :P

I've been told that there are roughly five levels of Spring Forest Qigong, and that LSC plans on releasing a PLC for each level. Which is going to take quiiite a while.
