Hi, I am now currently exploring my options, which include all of the following noted in the subject line.

1. As this must be a very difficult question, I will get through the last, first - is it possible to self-induce a Photographic Memory with ANY techniques, or to use LSC's tapes to create a "new behavior" much like a new persona, geared toward memory by photograph? Also, how did that one guy who listened to the 24-Hr Memory Supercharger unlock one, after 3 months of continuous listening, and who could even withstand that?! Is he a proven work of art? As for this question, lastly, I have also read a few of the lectures on the web which say it is possible to convert by forming images rather than audio, but how can one go about this? Will Paul or Pete ever consider making a course toward this? I do not care about the disadvantages of having a memory such as this, as I have already considered it - all I would like to do is: process information fast, recall with ease, immediately.

2. Speed Reading - a complex form of reading, in which the eyes are trained to grasp large amounts of text fairly quickly, and with comprehension in the conscious mind toward near 100% levels, according to certain programs. How effective is speed-reading? I can currently do around 400-600WPM on average.

3. PhotoReading claims not to be similar to speed-reading, but with all the skimming, mind-mapping, rapid reading, dipping, and super reading - isn't that much the same thing? Wouldn't it actually take a LONGER time than SR, considering the above and then the process of activation? Another important question, is the process still doable without the PR step? I mean, what does the PR actually contribute to the process, rather than an image of what a page may have looked like (but, if you don't even regular read it, how do even understand stuff in PR? How can Pete do stuff automatically, if he only sees blurs?)Also, with SR, you can usually instanteously recall information, and I have a very nice capability to do such when I read text, by simultaneously memorizing the info. But, with PR, don't the comprehension levels vary? How long would speed-reading info last in the mind, when compared to PR? Oh, and who is Subliminal Dynamics? Aren't their approaches better, since they want 100% concentration by some Einstein theory, and immediate total recall? I have looked at some posts, and all say PR is better.

4. Is it possible to use speed reading and photo reading simultaneously? I would like to explore the option of mastering SR first, and then moving to PR because it uses some of the SR techniques (rapid reading, I need to use it for studying technical works - medicine, etc.). Has anyone had success with some good SR books, that they could recommend? Like Howard Berg's, for example (I've heard weird stuff on this book, not sure how good it really is, but he claims to be the fastest normal "reader").

5. Can Image Streaming, that Einstein Theory of Concentration, and/or the Memory Supercharger (or any other tapes) help for immediate recall, or at least full recall within 1 day? Will the PR Activator Tape ever be out for public sale, or included with the course ever again, rather than only in the seminar?

6. Any SR to PR converters, that would like to share their experiences with both worlds?

Thank you all, much of your help and answering time is appreciated. I am just extremely curious, sorry for so many questions. I am intrigued by such amazing stuff, and I would literally like to read (in a short time!, heh) hundreds to thousands of books to expand my knowledge for every purpose in life, while getting through school as a top priority.

I don't know how to develop a photographic memory and really don't want one. My understanding is that it's great for quoting figures, information and data but absolutely horrid for integrating that information into a useful form. If you want one, all I can say is good luck and I hope you are pleased with what you get.

When I was in 8th grade and my sister in 7th, my dad enroled both of us and himself in a speed reading class. At the end of the class my sister tested at 250,000 wpm and I tested at 125,000 wpm. I don't remember what my dad did or my sisters comprehension level. My comprehension tested at about 70%. Having said all that, I also am not sure of the validity of the tests that were given for measuring speed and comprehension. We were supposed to get some cards saying that we completed the system that had our test results printed on them, but there was a falling out between the teacher and the organization and the teacher kept our money instead of sending it to the organization. He said they ripped him off so it was ok that he kept our money. Oh well, what can you do about it when you're a 13 year old kid? I digress, sorry. The system was hard to use as it was very fatiguing both physically and mentally and I didn't like the way I felt after finishing a reading session. For those reasons (and a few others) I abandoned the system. My did my dad and sister did as well for thier own reasons. PRing is much more comfortable and relaxing. It's actually fun to go through a book and now I look foreward to reading. I used to dread reading text books and couldn't understand how some people seemed to enjoy reading them. It used to take me a couple of weeks to read through a 400 page novel. Now I can get through that same novel in about 2-3 hours with better comprehension.

PR does incorporate some techniques that are found in speed reading courses. The difference is that with PR, the experience of reading is a relaxed affair where you decide at what level of comprehension you want or need. You keep playing with the material until you get where you want to be (usually in at most 1/3 the time that it used to take you to get the same comprehension). In my opinion, PR is a far better way to read than speed reading.

Lets try a little example. Lets say that you have a book that has 150,000 words that you want to read, and lets say that you can speed read that book at 5,000 wpm. Also we will say that you will be able to continue reading until you are through the book (non-stop). So you prepare to speed read (4-5 minutes), read the book (30 minutes), and you're finished. Do you have the level of comprehension that you want? I never did when I was speed reading. I always had to make several passes through the book to get the meaning I wanted (and was fatigued when I finished). When you finish that book and take a 10 minute break, can you then sit down and do it again, and again, and again...all day long if you wanted? I could only manage about four sessions per day maximum because I was so taxed when I finished one session. With PR I can go through as many books as I want to all day long if I desire to do so and not feel exhausted when finished. When I finish a PR session I actually feel refreshed and exhilerated, ready to go for another round.

Right now I couldn't tell you even one story that I read using speed reading. I do remember several books that I have PR since I started learning the system and I expect that the information from the text books that I PR will always be available. I have had some instances of spontaneous activation about something that I PR and it was similar to knowing something all my life. Kinda like reciting the address of the house that you lived in for 20 years. You don't remember where or how you learned the address, you just know that it's true. The same as you know that if you touch a hot iron you'll get burned. That's the best way I can describe the experience of spontaneous activation.

Hope this helps to clear up a few of your questions.

Sincerely,
Gregory

I Have Currently Gone Through the Various Options for Attaining Either One of These 3 systems, and Am Now Trying to Decide Which is Best (sorry 'bout the caps/word, Just a Little Class for a Topic)...

I would like to persue the process of developing a Photographic/Eidetic Memory, as I am conscious I have the ability to do so, with time. Do any of you have suggestions?

Photographic Memory
* Neuro-Linguistic Programming
* Subliminal/Self - Hypnosis
* Cognitive-Enhancement Coaching
* Convert Auditory Items Completely into Visual Images
* Program the Sub-Conscious Mind into Belief
* Total-Recall Memory Training
* The Photographic Mind - Memory Training System
* Advanced Thinking - Instant Memory
* Book - Developing a PM - Terry Brussel-Gibbons

PhotoReading System
* Processes Information From the Subconscious Level to the Conscious Level
* Scans Information Through Page-Flipping, All Seen as Blurs to the Conscious
* Retains Information Everlasting
* Photographic M. Recall is Attainable, for Certain Items (Specific Text Loc.)
* Comprehension Can Vary, with Activation Methods, and is Built in Layers
* Activation Includes Forms of Speed-Reading - Can Vary in Length (30-M/U)
* Activation Proc. - Super Reading/Dipping/Rapid Reading/Mind-Mapping
* 1 & 2 - Skimming, 3 - Speed-Reading, 4 - Info Organization & Correlation
* Process including Activation May Be Equivalent or More Time-Consuming than SR
* Layers Are on a Chapter-to-Chapter Basis
* Incubation May Be Required (A Night's Sleep)
* Works on All Types of Materials - Technical Information Takes Longer
* Spontaneous Activation May Be Acquired Through PR 3-10 Books/Day/3 Mo
* Activation Can Be Circumvented with Direct Learning Schemes
* Image Streaming (Sub-C to C Overnight) is Effective
* Distraction Index - Einstein, Can be Used for 100% Concentration for Mo's
* StereoReading (PR + Stereo-Gram Utilization) is also Effective
* Guarantees 3x Less the Time than Previous (Before PR'ing)

SpeedReading System
* 2,000 Words-Per-Minute & Above
* Near 100% Recall & Comprehension
* Information May Diminish Days After, Though
* Can Cause Strenuous Fatigue, At Extreme Rates
* May Be Effective, Considering Consumer's Semi-Photographic Natural Memorization
