You have repeated over and over for beginner's to PhotoRead 5-10 books each day for a month or two to get the hang of the process and make it second nature to us. I understand this to be PhotoReading without concious activation except for 1 or 2 books each week.

My question is do you mean for us to go through steps 1, 2, and 3 of the 5-step process for 5-10 books every day? (Prepare, Preview, PhotoRead) for all the books? Or just PhotoRead them (step 3 only) so we get used to flipping the pages and soft gazing, etc.. To go through steps 1-3 for 10 books in a day would take hours and hours?

What you are referring to are my posts about "mastering the basics" after you learn how to do the PhotoReading system correctly. Here's how:

1. Find 5-7 books on topics you are interested in, but have not read yet.

2. Do all 5 steps of PhotoReading on each book, one at a time. This need not be done in one day. But, you can Prepare/Preview/PhotoRead as many books as you want to each day. You'll benefit even if you don't have a chance to go back and manually activate.

3. When you get to steps 4 & 5, activate each book in 30-minute sessions, until the whole book "gels" and you have full comprehension.

To increase the chances for "spontaneous activation" do this:

1. Do steps 1,2,3, Prepare/Preview/PhotoRead 7-10 books each week for one month.

2. Then, go back and do steps 4,5, Activate/Rapid Read a couple of those books each week.

Activation is all about building conscious comprehension, from "whole-to-parts."

As a beginning PhotoReader, you will get through and comprehend your reading material 3 times faster than it takes you right now with regular-reading. And, as you continue using it, the more proficient you'll become. Also, it works on all material.
