I'm currently trying to activate several techincal books in preparation for my college classes starting on Aug 20. After a single pass of the first quarter of the textbooks, I was still confused. No comprehension except what I believe is some basic awareness. Then on the second pass, I didn't progress much in comprehension. It was still all greek to me. I only picked up some new words and found out their definitions. These books had A LOT of mathematics involved and, so far, it's all very much greek to me. Yup, I'm kinda discouraged. Skittering is what I use instead of superread/dip and it's just killing my eyes. My eyes are all achy right now. I've spent a total of 3.5 hours on both books so far (in 30-min activation sessions, 2 hours yesterday and 1.5 hours today). Should I continue making more passes through the same chapters in confusion until it all finally comes together instantly? Is that what I should expect? Would it come all together at once, like how a light bulb would light up at once?

I suggest you activate until it comes together. Also, for more insights, read the article "Works on all material" from the
PhotoReading section of our website.

Hi jm,
do a search of this DF for "text books" and "textbooks". Using PR for texts has been covered extensively. Many good "How To" tips have been given that you might benefit from.

One thing that you should do is to treat each chapter of the text as a seperate book. For more tips do the search.

If you have more questions after reading the previous posts, please ask here and I'm sure that someone will be glad to help.

Sincerely,
Gregory
