I learned entirely from the book. The only thing I didn't like about learning from the book, was that it took me about 7 months to learn the whole thing. Maybe I was doing something wrong. I don't know. All I know is that I did eventually learn it, and it was very exciting when I did. If you don't have much money to spend (like me), and you don't mind playing around and figuring things out on your own, the book is the way to go.
