I think it would be a great idea to be able to get the Photo Reading Personal Learning Course on compact disk. The tapes are constantly at risk of being erased by magnets, chewed up by the tape player, and tape quality downgrade after many uses. If you think it is a good idea, post a reply and maybe someone at LSC will see it and tell Paul that some people want their courses on CD.

I think it is a great Idea, and they need to offer it to us who already have the course for a highly discounted price, or maybe we can trade in the tapes for the CDs. I am in the process of putting the tapes on CD, but its a pain.

I also would like to see the PR course on CDs. You said in your post that you are in tranfering the tapes to CDs. How? Everywhere I go to, they say they don't have a tape to CD burner just a CD to CD burner.
Please reply. This is a good idea.

Jonah: It's really quite simple to do. Just take the output from the playback jacks on the back of your cassette deck and put the output from that into your input jacks on your cd burner. Now remember, your burner must be apart of your stereo system and not the cd burner thats mounted in your computer system. There are two different cd burner systems available on the market, One to compliment your stereo system, and one with your computer system, with the first one the easiest to configure. I've used the first system and the cd came out PERFECT!!!!!!! I inserted indexes between each track on the cd to be able to identify what tape i'm listening to. Quite ingenius and pretty good I might add

I still I have tapes I bought in the early 80's (Metallica and Iron Maiden) that have been played 100's of times and they still sound good. I wouldn't worry about it.

Jonah, Allenhm explained one way to do it, I do it a different way though, I plug the cassette deck outputs to my soundcard's inputs, copy it to the harddrive, then burn it.

How do you back up a cd to hear something a 2nd time if you missed it? Like i can stop the tape recorder & rewind it a little to listen again. How is that done w/ a cd player? Even my Awia system doesn't rewind a cd & the fancy one we have upstairs doesn't either. So, i'm curious at how you guys do this.
