I had written this message but accidentaly erased it. I'll now give you the shorter but just as important version.

I thought it might be possible to condense a few steps of the photo reading system among other things to make the whole proccess faster.

Take a 200 pg book and preview it for only 3 minutes by flipping 20 to 30 pg groups all through the entire book. While doing this, you are preparing, stateing purpose, setting a goal, mentally pulling outand making note of trigger words and entering the ideal state of mind.Seems like a lot but it is possible because i've done it.

Next, photo read the book really fast in about 5 to 7 minutes. You are noticing the blip page, 4 cornners of the book and the white space between print.

Quickly relax again. Then, with a soft, wide gaze, super read and dip the entire book in about twice the time it took you to photo read(10 to 14 minutes). Moving eyes smoothly down center of page and dipping with soft eyes to take in 1 or 2 paragraphs quickly and then resume super reading.

Set the book down and walk away thinking about the book and what you just did. Also asking yourself mind probing questions.

This way condenses some steps and requires a relaxed state and soft eyes. If you just let go and relax you can go really fast and come away with some good comprehension.

DON'T TRY THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T USED THE SYSTEM ON AT LEAST 10 BOOKS WITH GOOD RESULTS. If you do try this modified way of using this system, don't worry about the exact minutes on each step. Just be open and RELAXED.

I would like some feedback on this.

I like that and I have a modified system of my own, for now I'll call it Modified Speed Photoreading. I used it yesterday and today on a random book from the Library and I got it to gel in 20 total minutes (5 from last night and 15 from today).

The preview is just a "scan"- reading titles, subtitles and italic words and bullets, captions and things like that. Then I write down trigger words from memory. If a word didn't make it here, it ain't important. I got less than 10. Then I create a purpose and a few questions and a sentence about what I think the book is about based on the "scan." Then the PR step with all bells and whistles- AL state and affirmations and all that- kinda relaxing. Then sleep. Next day- supereading then mega speed reading (I always liked reading forward and backward, I called it "ski reading" because your fingers and eyes ski'd (I can't spell that word) down the page - and it works just as well without the fingers) and if it's a novel or a pleasure read - then forward only mega speed reading. I did this with that library book (called Brainpower) and I got the multiple passes plus the comprehension part as well.

I always did cr*ppy with mega speed reading but doing forward only with only IMPORTANT subvocalization at times is pretty fast.

By the way, I finally got my course today and did the whole thing start to finish and I'm fried. As soon as I finished PRing that book the course came and I called in sick and am taking vac days for 2 days just to go over it again and again. I finally had a breakthru the split second the course arrived. Funny how things work out.

AWESOME!

I knew others had got on the "MEGA PHOTO READING TRAIL"! I always like you questions and replies. I am practicing "mega photo reading" lately. See, even modifications can be made to photo reading to make it even better! I always thought that the system needed to be a little less complicated.

I like to preview and photo read real fast the night before, go to sleep, wake up next morning and activate before work or school.

Amazed to read that you did the whole course in one day and took two days off of work to do it again. You are nuts but in a really good way. I like your style.

It is nice to hear some positive reinforcement from others. I have read a lot of stuff that was "bubble bursting", if you know what i mean. It all makes you question wheather this system/company/Paul/Pete is legitimate or not. Do you feel the same way some times? I sometimes question the importance of the photo reading step but then, it dose not matter because i can do amazing things now.

Thanks Andy030

I "knew" it wasn't a scam because it's been out so long and it's still selling and this forum proves it's an "active" program- not something that's thrown out there and that's it- like Mega Speed Reading was. I don't even think they sell it anymore and it's always on ebay for around $15. The PhotoReading courses on ebay are rare and they go for over $150, heck for that I'd rather just get a new one.

There are some books that the "moving your fingers down the page" won't work on like "The tao of JKD" by Bruce Lee. I Photoread that when I got to tape #7 where we got to pick a book. For that supereading was great because each concept is separated and the book is choppy- lots of drawings and one line phrases. I'm finding out that even with books that I'd like to slow read (like that JKD one) when I blast thru them I skip what I already know and get right to new stuff. No way I can mind map that book though- it's like an encyclopedia.

Another technique I sorta "fell into" (could say invented but I'm sure I'm not the first to do it) is to rapid read the first line or first sentence of each paragraph to see if I want to rapid read the whole paragraph. Most times I don't. I read the book "Rich dad, poor dad" like that and quickly found the MEAT and left the fluff behind. I think that's the way I'll rapid read from now on. I'm getting away from using a flowing/random hand movement (from mega speed reading) and I let the paragraphs show me where to move my hands. I think that whole hand moving thing is unecessary ALL the time, I just do it when I feel like it.

My wife has to take these banking classes for her State Farm job and she has this huge manual she has to read. I already previewed and PR'd it and I only saw one section with anything she wouldn't already know based on what I know she already studied because she had to take 2 other classes for the job. The funny thing is I can almost see the pages in my head and I can tell the exact positions on the pages where the stuff is. Pretty cool. I think it's sticking in my head because I know I'll have to explain it to her soon. Without SOME motivation I doubt learning is as easy. That may have been my problem when I first started this- I had nothing I had to read, I was just trying to do it.

Andy and T,

Now that you have mastered the basics of PhotoReading, you should begin to notice more and more often, occurrences of "spontaneous activation." The more connections you build between your conscious mind and other-than-conscious with manual activation, the easier and easier your inner mind can spontaneously activate more information.

Keep us posted with your results!

If you think I have the basics down, I'll believe it. It was the spontaneous things that kept me going in the beginning. Glad to know they'll get better.
