Hello everyone,

I am new to this board and have been looking for place where I can find other people who are interested or even better yet have progressed with FR.

I am sure this question has been asked many times here, but I was wondering if I may ask it again openly to everyone.

How long has it taken you to feel comfortable with FR? In other words, how much effort did you put into FR (every day, couple times a week, several hours a day, ect) before some of you have come to the point that you felt you could FR information or a fairly large book and feel comfortable with you ability to absorb information from it?

I understand that FR takes time and a lot of practice. I have no problem with this. I can't afford the course at this time right now so I have been learning from the book availible. I have given my self about a year to practice and learn this, but am hoping that in 6 months I can see improvements in my reading skills.

In my line of work I need to read large amounts of information, and all of it is extremely technical, and much of it is not something you can learn anywhere else but from the books. I am currently going through some very indepth material and am reading about 3,000 pages in the span of a month and half to two months. I am currently reading the material normal, but when I am done I try to FR everything I read to help absorb more. What I am finding difficult is the ability to Preview and then scan and dip. How do scan and dip for key words when so much of what is being read is so important and needs to be understood? I am also finding it difficult to ask my self questions with anything specific. I feel like I can only ask very vauge and general questions...Like... what information can I gather from this part of the book I am reading from.

I was wondering if anyone else had any success in general. I have not met anyone else who has tried FR, and would love to know that there are people out there who have progressed beyond my state of learning and, could offer any suggestions.

Thanks
