I don't know if this can apply to anatomy but I'm halfway thru a book on shorthand that I previewed and Pr'd once and I'm remembering the strokes by passing over them once and practicing with them on maybe 10 words before going on to the next sound. I've got all the sounds down and can write any word and now I'm doing frequently used phrases and big words and my total study time so far has been 2 hours. My mom took shorthand in highschool (Gregg shorthand has never changed) and she told me that after one semester someone can basically write everything in shorthand for personal use and to do it for business, medical or professional purposes they have shorthand II and all that. Well, I'm already THERE, and in 2 hours! I'm not proficient yet- I still have to think about what I'm writing but it's in memory and I don't need the book anymore and that to me is amazing. If I were to sit down and take a writing and a transcribing test, I would pass it. With anatomy, PRing will be your first exposure to it and you'll have to slow read and memorize it all but I'll bet you'll be vaguely familiar with.
