I am still needing a lot of practice with photoreading, but that is, for a change, not the purpose of this post.
When reading a book that teaches how to do something, do you still just super-read and dip over everything as fast as you would in other types of books?
I am planning on being a computer programmer. I have learned the C language. I am learning C++ and the DirectX API. Later I will learn Java and Perl and maybe some others.
In books that teach these languages, there are snippets of code and sample programs. Should I study them as if I were regular reading them, or should I just super-read and dip as usual?
How should I go about learning this stuff?
Another question is this: there have been stories about people being able to recall the exact, word-for-word definition of words in a dictionary and the general position of that word on the page. How is this done? That can't be simple activation where you get a good concept of the text.
