Andy, let me boil your words down:

- lots of small reading sessions, where you Preview, PR, and activate. Do you do this each time really briefly?
- lots of checking where you're at and where you're going (do you do this from a book, ie chapter by chapter?)
- do you photoread the whole text daily?
- brief daily activation/study periods
- do you use direct learning techniques?

I find I race ahead of myself and expect too much of the language, being very skilful and natural with English. What is your outcome statement like with Spanish? How do you specifically that you're at the limit of your knowledge?
