Photographic recall of dictionaries? No, not at all.
The dictionary game uses your conscious mind to imagine where the word might be located on the page. Then you look the word up in the dictionary to see how close you came. Sometimes you'll be way off, sometimes right on, sometimes exactly opposite.
I remember the first time I did the dictionary in a 1992 PR seminar with Paul S. I flipped thru the book, let a word come to me, imagined a page in the dictionary, and I actually saw the word moved down the page and stop. I looked it up, and it was right on! I thought, "hey, this is a piece of cake" but my next several tries were way off. Good old performance anxiety.
Keep in mind, the dictionary game cultivates the channel between your conscious mind and your inner mind, so it can more effectively/efficiently respond to requests you give to it.
