Brian, real quick back to static contraction training, what you did in those nine weeks, going from a BP of 160lb to 240lb, did that really relate to gains in muscle strength, or just endurance? How about muscle mass? I know this is far from what LS covers, but it's still self-help, so please indulge me. And in regards to getting a gym membership, I would suggest your money better spend on a decent home gym that provides enough safty for these exercises. I might suggest getting a Smith machine, which would be very safe for bench presses, squats and military presses. I've been tempted to get one myself for quite some time, but money and space have put it off. But if you would only be getting some 20mins/week, 4times/month, 80mins/month, 12months/year, 960mins/year, which ends up being only 14hrs/year (pardon my math if there is a screw up) Now if you pay even a low price of $560 a year, you'd be charged $40/hr(a conservative number) to use their facilities which takes you time to drive there and back, and waiting for a specific exercise machine to be free. And for just about the same price, you could save time and work out in the comfort of your own home. It's not like there are that many variations that could be done with static contractions. Then again, if you're saving up that 500 bucks for the magnetic bed....

Well, on to more intellectual pursuits.... I'd like to go back to the sleep less, live more subject. By brother was telling me about a man who decided to live with a pack of wolves for an extended period of time. As it happens, wolves sleep for a few minutes every few hours, and this man was able to emulate their sleep patterns, though the long term effects were not mentioned. By brother attempted the method this man wrote about in his book (I do not currently remember the title, though I could easily find out) but it didn't work out too well. The two main problems were a) falling asleep right away and b) waking up after a few minutes. Hey, we're smarter than animals, right? Right?
3am. Time to sleep the sleep of angels. i.e. listen to paraliminals till I fall into a contented sleep.
