Hey, don’t knock the magnetic bed! lol

I know this is far from what LS covers, but it's still self-help, so please indulge me.
Sure thing.
Conceivably, I could walk all the way to the university gym of which I already have a free membership—but for a 10 minute workout? Actually, this gymnasium is the second largest gymnasium in the world. The Soviets came over here in the 1980’s and took the measurements. They copied it exactly... except they added like three inches on to the top!!
And you’re right about the inadequacy of equipment—its too short to bother going to a gym, and too intense to do on your own.
As far as what I have gained... I really don’t know much about lifting, as I’m quite new to it, plus it only takes up about 20 minutes per week--a casual affair. If I had to describe it though... um, it feels a lot meatier, like you could sink your teeth into it. Nice and hard. Every day in the morning, I feel my bicep and I swear it feels just a tad larger. I bought a couple muscle T’s and am beginning to like what I see. Also, I like to use my biceps for pillows now instead of actual pillows. I’m very sorry, this is sounding absurd.
I don’t know how to measure muscle mass, muscle strength, or endurance. Really, I’m just after the augmented appearance and the confidence that brings.
Well, on to more intellectual pursuits.... I'd like to go back to the sleep less, live more subject.
btw, if you can find the name of the book on the wolves, I’d love to read it.
The only negative things that I noticed with the earlier sleep experiment were these:
Lack of self-consciousness. (which you wouldn’t think would be a problem, but it led to saying and writing things that I would normally screen out.)
Need of an extra meal. (Everything’s closed except for the quickie mart and the vending machine...)
Need for an extra shower, too.
Plus, skip a meditation and... well, you DON'T want to do that.
The way the times are designed, you remain on the threshold of sleep debt. I've found 1 hour of delta meditation to be equivalent to almost 'exactly' 3.25 hours of sleep.
Now, if we divide all time spent into three different categories (like in the book, Finding Flow), you have:
Work, Play, and Maintenance.
Regarding “Sleeping less and living more...?” Check this out:
4 Power Ups = 40 min (trampoline, water, wheat grass, breathing)
2 Delta Med = 120 min (with mega-Paraliminals using the brainwave generator)
Closing = 30 min (tai chi / journal / plan next day)
= 3hrs 10 min “hyper” maintenance per day
Sleep = 90 min (can’t seem to get any more than this)
Hygeine = 30 min (dress, shower)
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack = 1 hour (liquid food/condensed food is quicker)
= 3hrs “routine” maintenance
TOTAL = a mere 6 hours maintenance per day
The average body spends 12 hours of maintenance each day. (!!!!)
What does that leave this body?
18 hours of pure, unadulterated, high-energy time. To be used either for work or play.
Then, there is also my little theory on REM deprivation and the spontaneous genius-like creativity that brings.
When I figure out what I’m going to do with my life, I feel that this will give me the ultimate edge. Imagine—just being *capable* of working 18 hours at full energy. Since the sleep is so spaced out, it gives you the perception of perpetual activity, since you're never down for more than 90 minutes. Imagine—to pursue your passions to the utmost. Think what that would mean!
And this isn’t a dream. I did this for a week—last week, in fact. And, looking back, I can see no viable reason not to do again. Actually, just for “reason’s” sake, perhaps I should skip a meditation and get 8 hours sleep instead, once every week?—that’s approaching sane.
(you know, you’re right, this thread has gone way off topic!-–I’m still looking for ways to supercharge the effect of paraliminals—so, if anyone gets any ideas...)
Peace!
