Though I have noticed a difference in reading speed and comprehension when using the tangerine technique as described in my personal learning course, I am confronted with a problem when using it for super reading.

My problem, is that instead of opening my field of vision so I can assimilate more of the material at one time, it seems to abate my field of vision so that I cannot see the whole column at one time, but rather, only a couple words which also forces me to move my eyes more rapidly.

Perhaps, then, I am using the entire technique incorrectly and the results it presumably affords me are simply manifestations of my top regular reading speed and comprehension if I am paying appropriate attention.

Does anybody know what I might be doing wrong?

I have no idea what you're doing wrong. I just use the tangerine for PR and don't use it for anything else.

Recall that the technique is used to help you (1) focus and (2) expand your field of vision by helping you relax and change the perspective you have on the text.

If you vision is not relaxed during super reading and you are experiencing "tunnel vision" so to speak, here is what I'd recommend that you do.

Close your eyes and re-enter the accelerated learning state. Give yourself a positive command to relax your field of vision and soften your gaze.

In your mind's eye, visualize that when you open your eyes, you will be standing over your own right shoulder to Super Read. Imagine that you are hovering over your shoulder Experience what it feels like, smells like, sounds like, etc.

Then, open your eyes while "seeing" over your right shoulder.

Whenever you feel yourself slip, briefly imagine yourself stepping out of your own ody to stand up and read over your shoulder.

Try that. Maybe it will work.

smells like, ie the cologne or perfume on your neck or behind your ear or your hair spray or shampoo.
