In order to earn a living from the world, you have to provide a product or service to someone that they think is worthwhile and valuable enough to then to trade you money for what you have to offer. If you want to earn a good living you will have to get an education as you already know. What you may not realize is that it doesn't matter where you get that education be it from books, using your brain, or in a formal education setting.
Economically speaking, ther are two kinds of people in this world. Those that make thier lifestyles fit thier budget, and those that make thier budget fit thier lifestyle 
.
I want to be in the second category. There are many roads to take to get to the same place, It's only a matter of deciding where you want to go, then plot the course and keep to it. Good luck in the process.
